Dainty work for pleasure and profit
A late-Victorian fancy-work manual of 1893, issued anonymously and aimed at women doing needlework at home for household use or sale. Line engravings show lace rosettes, netted and darned grounds, woven basket-weave squares, and sprigged embroidery patterns drawn as stitch diagrams, giving designers ready-made motifs, repeat textures and hatched fills at small scale.
