Dante Gabriel Rossetti, his family-letters : with a memoir
A two-volume edition of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's family correspondence, edited with a biographical memoir by his brother William Michael Rossetti and published by Ellis and Elvey in London in 1895 for readers following the Pre-Raphaelite circle. The plates reproduce Rossetti's own pencil and pen portraits of relatives and friends — a bonneted elderly woman, a young man in profile, a girl in a beaded necklace — offering loose hatched line work, soft tonal heads and half-length figures usable as period character studies.
