Dat Scaecspel, uitgegeven door Dr. Gertrude H. Van Schaick Avelingh
A scholarly edition of the Middle Dutch chess allegory Dat Scaecspel, derived from Jacobus de Cessolis, edited by Gertrude H. van Schaick Avelingh and printed by Sijthoff in Leiden in 1912 for philologists of medieval literature. The one illustration is a manuscript stemma: heavy horizontal and vertical rules branching to lettered nodes with curly braces grouping families, usable as a ready-made diagram of descent or a schematic line-and-label structure.
