Débuts de l'imprimerie en France. L'Imprimerie nationale. L'Hôtel de Rohan
A history of early French printing and of the Imprimerie nationale's home in the Hôtel de Rohan, written by its director Arthur Christian with a preface by Jules Claretie and printed by the state press in Paris in 1905. Plates reproduce rococo boiserie cartouches, painted ceiling panels and neoclassical bird-and-garland overdoors in flat single-ink tints, useful for ornament frames and borders.
