A Dutch emblem book by Jan Luyken, printed in Amsterdam in 1711 by the widow P. Arntz and K. van der Sys, pairing over a hundred small plates with scripture mottoes and devotional verse for pious lay readers. The square etchings show workmen, travellers and canal-side towns in fine parallel-line shading, useful for figure vignettes, tool details and low-horizon landscape backgrounds.
