De Bykorf des Gemoeds : Honing zaamelende uit allerley Bloemen
A Dutch emblem book of didactic verse, written and etched by Jan Luyken and published in Amsterdam in 1711 by the widow of P. Arentz and K. van der Sys, aimed at pious readers who drew moral lessons from scenes of daily labour. The hundred small square etchings pair working figures — fishermen hauling nets, gardeners, masons among building rubble, travellers on a road — with ruled horizontal skies, dense parallel hatching and Dutch gabled houses, giving designers compact framed vignettes, tradesmen's tools and costume, and reusable line-textured sky and foliage patterns.
