Studies in the decorative art of Japan
A study of Japanese ornament by Francis Taylor Piggott, published in London by B.T. Batsford in 1910 for designers and craft students. The plates reproduce stencil and textile patterns as flat black-and-grey repeats: interlocking fret and swastika lattices, hexagonal key mazes, and scrolling cloud forms, with ragged block edges showing the repeat unit — ready-made tiling motifs and border rules.
