The decorative periods
A survey of historical ornament and furnishing styles compiled by Chandler Robbins Clifford and published in New York in 1906 for decorators, furniture dealers and draughtsmen. Line drawings catalogue period motifs: Rococo shell-and-acanthus cartouches, Gothic foliate scrollwork, painted wall and ceiling panel schemes, and grotesque arabesques, supplying clean outline patterns for borders, frames and repeat backgrounds.
