De godlievende ziel vertoont in zinnebeelden
A Dutch emblem book of 1737, printed in Amsterdam by the Verheyde brothers, with verses by Jan Suderman after Otto van Veen's Amoris divini emblemata and Herman Hugo's devotional emblems, made for lay Christian readers. Jan Smit's copperplates set a haloed winged Divine Love and the robed Soul in small landscapes with rayed suns, churches, drums, bows, arrows and sunflowers, giving compact figure-and-attribute vignettes with framing rules.
