An Italian architectural treatise in two books by the Paduan painter-architect Giuseppe Viola Zanini, printed at Padua by Giacomo Cadorino in 1677, with an appended section by Andrea Minorelli on drawing smoke from chimneys, addressed to builders and designers learning the five orders. The woodcuts are line-only working diagrams: lettered geometric constructions, stone-by-stone voussoir and arch courses, rusticated doorways with pediments, and foreshortened cornice and capital studies, offering designers ready measured-drawing conventions, masonry coursing patterns, and keyed geometric linework.
