Della architettvra
Giovanni Antonio Rusconi's Della architettura, printed by the Giolito press in Venice in 1590, illustrates Vitruvius's ten books for builders, masons and patrons. The 183 woodcuts show cutaway walls, masonry courses, foundations laid in water, fortification plans with flanking bastions, fluted column shafts and their setting-out diagrams, combining plan, section and perspective with keyed letters and dense hatching.
