Della carrozza da nolo, ouero, Del vestire & vsanze alla moda libri due
A two-book Italian treatise on hired carriages, dress and fashionable custom by Agostino Lampugnani, printed by Lodovico Monza in Milan in 1649 for readers of moralizing vernacular commentary. The plates here are letterpress ornament: heavy woodcut initials filled with acanthus, tulips and grotesque masks, plus a banded headpiece of repeating arabesque blocks, usable as drop caps, rules and repeat patterns.
