Della realtà & perfettione delle imprese
Ercole Tasso's treatise on the design and meaning of imprese, printed by Comin Ventura in Bergamo in 1614 for readers of emblem and device literature. The plates are woodcut initials and headpiece ornaments: letters V and A built from acanthus scrolls, grotesque masks, and winged heads, in coarse black-line relief cutting useful as drop caps, borders, and stamp-like ornaments.
