A 1795 Roman treatise by Pietro Marquez, published by Salomoni, reconstructing the city houses of the ancient Romans from the text of Vitruvius for antiquarians and architects. The engraved plates are measured plans, sections and elevations, keyed with letters and figure numbers: black-filled walls, hatched courtyards, dotted colonnade grids and diagonal construction lines useful as geometric pattern and diagram vocabulary.
