Delle imprese, trattato
Giulio Cesare Capaccio's treatise on imprese, printed in Naples in 1592 by Carlino and Pace for readers of emblems and heraldic devices. The woodcuts run to hundreds of oval emblems with motto ribbons, plus decorated initials and winged-head tailpieces, all cut in coarse hatching that holds up when enlarged as ornament, borders, or badge frames.
