Dell'entusiasmo delle belle arti
Saverio Bettinelli's treatise on enthusiasm in the fine arts, printed in Milan in 1769 by the royal printer Giuseppe Galeazzi for readers of aesthetic theory. The illustrations are small letterpress woodcut ornaments — a canopied urn with hanging drapery and tassels, a flower basket flanked by scrolling foliage, and an open book on a bracket with globe, palm and laurel — usable as chapter headpieces, tailpieces and emblem-style spot devices.
