Delle statue
Giovanni Andrea Borboni's Italian treatise on statues and sculpture, printed in Rome by Iacomo Fei in 1661 with designs by the painter Lazzaro Baldi and engraving by Guillaume Chasteau, addressed to antiquarians and artists. Most of the plates here are woodcut factotum initials: letters framed by urns of flowers, garlands, bees, balustrades and a seated reading woman, usable as drop caps and small ornament blocks.
