Del modo di fabbricare una nave che cammini sostentata sopra l'aria a remi ed a vele, quale si dimostra poter riuscire nella pratica
A 1784 Milanese reprint, from the press of Giuseppe Galeazzi, of Francesco Lana Terzi's seventeenth-century proposal for a ship that would fly by means of evacuated copper globes, rowed and sailed through the air for readers of natural philosophy and early aeronautics. The single folding copperplate shows shaded spheres, tubes and a masted hull rigged with sail and oars in fine outline, while letterpress woodcut headpieces supply a flower basket in an urn and a stack of books wreathed in foliage and scrolls.
