A technical manual on plotting the outlines of shadows cast by sunlit bodies, written by the Milanese scenographer Paolo Landriani with Antonio Lanzani and published by Pietro e Giuseppe Vallardi in Milan in 1831 for architects and draughtsmen. The engraved plates show column bases, cornices, brackets and cylinders in projection, with construction lines, arcs and lettered points and flat grey shadow tones ready to lift as line art or geometric diagram.
