Delphi
An archaeological account of the Delphi excavations by Danish scholar Frederik Poulsen, translated by G. C. Richards and published in London by Gyldendal in 1920 for students of Greek art and antiquity. Halftone photographs record marble metopes, frieze fragments, torsos and drapery in raking light, with broken edges and chipped surfaces set against plain grey studio grounds; useful for stone texture, fragment silhouettes and figures cropped by damage.
