De phoenomenis in orbe lvnae : novi telescopii vsv a D. Gallileo Gallileo nvnc itervm svscitatis physica disputatio
A Latin disputation of 1612, printed in Venice by Tommaso Baglioni, in which the Roman philosopher Giulio Cesare Lagalla argues against Galileo's telescopic account of the Moon for an audience of university-trained natural philosophers. The plates here are printer's ornament rather than astronomy: white-vine woodcut initials on black grounds, a headpiece frieze of mermaids and grotesques, and a later armorial bookplate.
