De praestigiis daemonum, et incantationibus ac ueneficijs : libri V.
A Latin treatise on demons, magic and poisoning by the physician Johann Weyer, printed in Basel by Johannes Oporinus in 1563 for jurists, theologians and learned readers who debated the prosecution of witches. The single scanned image is not a printed illustration but a reader's inked marginal scrawl in brown cursive with abbreviation strokes and underlines on stained paper, useful as hand-lettering reference, texture overlay or endpaper detail.
