An emblem book recording the members of the Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft, a German language society, compiled under Prince Ludwig of Anhalt-Köthen and engraved and printed by Matthaeus Merian at Frankfurt am Main in 1646 for the society's members. Each plate sets a single plant in a landscape with castles, fences and hills, framed by ribbon scrolls carrying a motto above and a society name below.
