Der Kupferstich

Singer, Hans Wolfgang, b. 1867 · 1904 · Bielefeld, Velhagen and Klasing · 119 pictures

A German survey history of copperplate engraving and etching by the Dresden print curator Hans Wolfgang Singer, published in 1904 by Velhagen and Klasing in Bielefeld for collectors and art students. The plates reproduce engravings from the fifteenth century onward — mounted hunters and grotesque beasts in early line work, dense hatched battle and bathing scenes, and a loose pen-drawn allegorical title design — useful for line-texture samplers, hatching studies, and figure groups.
