Serviliano Latuada's five-volume description of Milan, printed at the Regio-ducal corte in 1737 for residents, travellers and patrons who wanted an account of the city's churches and palaces. The copperplate engravings are elevations of facades in fine outline, showing stacked orders, pedimented windows, balustrades and rusticated bases, usable as line-art architectural motifs, borders and repeating column rhythms.
