De secretis mulierum. Item, de virtutibus herbarum, lapidum et animalium
A Latin edition of the pseudo-Albertus Magnus compilation on generation and childbirth together with the virtues of herbs, stones and animals, printed in Amsterdam by Henricus and Theodorus Boom in 1669 for physicians, apothecaries and learned readers. The pictures here are woodcut chapter initials — heavy black letters set in square blocks of curling acanthus, buds and tendrils, printed unevenly on toned paper — usable as drop caps, ornament motifs or texture studies.
