Desiderii Spreti historici Ravennatis De amplitudine, eversione, et restauratione urbis Ravennae libri tres
A three-book Latin history of Ravenna's greatness, destruction, and restoration, written by the fifteenth-century humanist Desiderio Spreti and re-edited by Camillo Spreti for Antonio Roveri's Ravenna press in 1793, addressed to antiquaries and epigraphers. The plates copy early Christian inscriptions in facsimile: hatched crosses with alpha and omega, chi-rho and letter monograms in roundels, ruled tablet borders and blocks of capital lettering useful as line-engraved ornament, mark designs and epigraphic type reference.
