Design in textile fabrics
A technical manual on woven cloth design by Thomas R. Ashenhurst, published by Cassell in London in 1883 for textile students, mill designers and manufacturers. Its plates are line diagrams of weave structures, twills and basket interlacings printed black on tinted paper, alongside a few coloured floral stripe patterns, all of them tiling repeats usable as backgrounds, hatched fills and endless pattern stock.
