Design of a highway bridge
An undergraduate civil engineering thesis by McDonald Thompson, submitted at the University of Illinois in 1902 and written for faculty examiners as a worked design for a highway bridge. The plates are hand-drawn truss diagrams in fine pen and pencil on aged paper, panels and diagonals annotated with stress figures and dimensions, useful for line-based geometric motifs, technical-drawing textures, and handwritten numeric detail.
