Design of a jib crane for a foundry

Mount, Madison Hoge · 1902 · 4 pictures

An undergraduate engineering thesis by Madison Hoge Mount, submitted at the University of Illinois in 1902, working out the design of a jib crane for foundry use. The plates are hand-drawn ink diagrams on yellowed paper: dimensioned elevations of braced timber and steel jibs, bolt-hole plate details, pulley and worm-gear sections in crosshatch, with dimension lines, arrows and hand-lettered figure captions a designer can lift as line-drawing vocabulary.
