Design and representation
A drawing and ornament manual issued by the University of the State of New York in Albany in 1910, prepared as classroom guidance for school art teachers and their pupils. Plates run from flat brown silhouette motifs and scrolled rectangular border frames to line studies of arrowhead leaves and flowers, giving designers simple two-tone stencil shapes, panel surrounds, and plant outlines.
