Designs and patterns for needle work
A numbered pattern catalogue for embroidery issued by the Patten Publishing Co. in New York in 1873, sold to needleworkers copying motifs onto cloth. Plates pair outline sprays of flowers, berries and leaves marked with working dimensions against dense black-and-white blocks of lace, cross-stitch and darned net borders, giving designers both clean line art and repeatable textile fills.
