Deutsche Bilder
A survey of German painting compiled by Georg Jacob Wolf and issued by Gerber in Munich around 1900 for German readers following the art of their own country. The 48 plates are monochrome halftone reproductions spanning late-medieval altar panels, nativities in ruined masonry, costumed street musicians and a bearded burgher in ruff and fur coat, offering figure poses, drapery folds and dark tonal backdrops for collage or reference.
