Deutsche mystiker
A 1908 Berlin anthology of German mystical writing edited by Wilhelm von Scholz for Marquardt & Co., issued to general German readers and illustrated with reproductions of early sixteenth-century woodcuts, chiefly Dürer's Apocalypse. The plates are pure black-line engraving: scrolling cloud banks, rayed sun discs, heavy drapery folds, candlesticks and trampling horsemen, useful for cut-out motifs and dense hatched texture.
