Deutsche plastik des mittelalters..
A German survey of medieval sculpture by art historian Max Sauerlandt, published by Karl Robert Langewiesche in Düsseldorf and Leipzig in 1909 as an inexpensive illustrated volume for general and student readers. The 127 halftone photographs record stone figures, tympana, choir screen reliefs and column statues from Romanesque and Gothic churches, offering draped figures, seated evangelists, angels, inscribed bands and blind arcade framing usable as silhouettes, borders and figure references.
