A multi-volume German genealogical handbook of middle-class families, edited by Bernhard Koerner and issued by C.A. Starke in Görlitz from 1889, compiled for family historians and heraldic researchers. The plates mix line-engraved coats of arms with scrolled mantling, crested helms and cross-hatched shields against faint halftone portraits of family members in oval frames, offering crest ornament, hatching textures and blank cartouche shapes for reuse.
