Deutsche Zeichner von der Gotik bis zum Rokoko
A survey of German draughtsmanship from the Gothic period to the Rococo, written by art historian Oskar Hagen and published by Piper in Munich in 1921 for students and collectors of old master drawings. The 114 plates reproduce pen, chalk and silverpoint sheets: heavy drapery folds, gaunt portrait heads, skeletal grotesques and loosely hatched interiors, useful as line-drawing reference and for hatching and contour textures.
