Dialoghi tra Claro, e Sarpiri, per istruire chi desidera d'essere un eccellente pittore figurista
A Bologna-printed manual of 1778 in which Carlo Antonio Pisarri sets out instruction for aspiring figure painters as dialogues between Claro and Sarpiri, issued by the printer Ferdinando Pisarri for students of the art. The plates are small etched vignettes of seated allegorical women among the tools of the studio — drawing boards, globes, fluted urns, palettes, plaster heads and cast masks — modelled in dense cross-hatching against blank grounds, usable as headpieces, spot devices or cut-out figures.
