Dialogo Pio Et Specvlativo : Con diuerse sentenze Latine & volgari
A 1560 Italian-language dialogue on emblems, devices and moral conduct written by the Florentine antiquarian Gabriele Simeoni and printed at Lyon by Guglielmo Rouillé for humanist readers and collectors of ancient coins. The woodcuts show paired coin obverses and reverses in plain ruled circles: standing personifications with sceptre and phoenix, a turreted city goddess, laurel wreaths enclosing votive lettering, altars, and profile portraits, all usable as roundels, seals, medallion frames and letter-in-wreath devices.
