The dictionary of needlework : an encyclopædia of artistic, plain, and fancy needlework ...
An illustrated encyclopaedia of needlework compiled by Sophia Caulfeild and Blanche Saward, published in London by L. Upcott Gill in 1882 for home and professional needleworkers. The 571 wood-engraved plates show stitches, lace grounds, and filling patterns at working magnification: twisted threads, knotted grids, buttonholed bars, and repeating geometric fills usable as line textures, borders, and tiling motifs.
