Dictionary of painters and engravers
A reference dictionary of painters and engravers compiled by Michael Bryan and revised by George Charles Williamson, published by G. Bell in London in 1903 for collectors, dealers, and art students. The plates are halftone reproductions of European paintings — group portraits, double portraits, tavern and domestic interiors, and oval pastoral scenes — with soft grey tonal range and heavy shadow, useful as period figure sources or for texture and tonal collage.
