Dictionary of painters and engravers
Bryan's Dictionary of Painters and Engravers, revised by George Charles Williamson and issued by G. Bell in London in 1903, is a multi-volume biographical reference for collectors, dealers and art students. Its plates are halftone photographic reproductions of European paintings — full-length child portraits, costumed group scenes, rustic gatherings — soft-toned and useful as grey-scale figure sources and period dress reference.
