A French reference dictionary of ancient and modern place names compiled by Pierre Deschamps for booksellers and book collectors identifying imprints, reissued in Berlin by J. Altmann in 1922. The plates are square woodcut-style initial letters in solid black line, each capital set against scrolling foliate vine and palmette fill, usable as drop caps, monogram bases, or tiling ornament.
