Dictionnaire des architectes français
Adolphe Lance's two-volume biographical dictionary of French architects, published in Paris by V. A. Morel in 1872 for architects, antiquarians and archival researchers. The plates are small wood-engraved facsimiles of medieval and Renaissance seals and masons' marks, printed on tinted stock: circular dies with heraldic shields, mason's tools, stars and fleurs-de-lis, ringed by abbreviated Latin legends in hatched line, useful as compact emblems, monograms and roundel devices.
