Dictionnaire des arts de peinture, sculpture et gravure
A five-volume French reference dictionary of painting, sculpture and engraving compiled by Claude-Henri Watelet and Pierre-Charles Levesque, printed in Paris by L. F. Prault in 1792 for artists, students and collectors. The plates here are letterpress ornaments: monogram cartouches in radiating rays, bell-hung canopies with laurel branches, a sunburst headpiece over artists' tools, and rocaille shells with rose swags.
