An alphabetical iconological dictionary by Honoré Lacombe de Prézel, printed in Paris by Théodore de Hansy in 1756 to help collectors and artists read the symbols in paintings, sculpture, medals and prints. The plates here are the printer's own woodcut furniture rather than the subject matter: horizontal headbands and triangular tailpiece vignettes built from acanthus scrolls, palmette fans, urns and shell fans, useful as section dividers, rules and small centred ornaments.
