Die alte Kirche zu Marienhafe in Ostfriesland
An 1845 antiquarian monograph by Hemmo Suur on the medieval Marienkirche at Marienhafe in East Frisia, issued in Emden by the Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst und Vaterländische Altertümer for local historians and church antiquaries. The plates are outline engravings recording carved relief panels and arcading: robed figures at altars and biers, gabled and trefoil frames, numbered fragments with measurements, all drawn in thin uninflected contour on bare paper, useful as flat figure silhouettes, arcade motifs and measured architectural ornament.
