Die Baukunst des Altertums
Ferdinand Noack's German survey of ancient architecture, published in Berlin by Fischer & Franke in 1910 for students and general readers of classical building history. The plates are halftone photographs of Greek, Roman and Near Eastern ruins shot in flat daylight — colonnades, cut-stone walls, entablatures and arcaded courts standing in bare ground — useful as grainy monochrome texture, stone-detail reference, and silhouettes of columns against empty sky.
