Die entwickelung des putto in der plastik der frührenaissance
Siegfried Weber's 1898 Heidelberg dissertation on the development of the putto in early Renaissance sculpture, published by C. Winter for art historians and students of Italian sculpture. Eight halftone plates photograph marble reliefs and tabernacles: winged infants holding garlands, urns and shells, crowded classical sarcophagus friezes, and framed niches with fluted pilasters, Corinthian capitals, pediments and inscribed bases.
