Jakob Steiner's treatise on geometric constructions made with the straightedge and one fixed circle, edited by Arthur von Oettingen and printed by W. Engelmann in Leipzig in 1895 for secondary-school teachers and practical draughtsmen. The plates are fine-line construction diagrams: circles crossed by sheaves of solid and dotted straight lines, tangents, triangles and italic point labels, useful as linear pattern, overlay texture or technical ornament.
